The Management Mandate and Advice

Our on-demand executives can work as independent consultants or under a consulting mandate. However, they are not consultants in the traditional sense, as they take an active leadership or management role in the company that hires them, implementing changes and running the organization as their permanent counterpart would. They are available on a project basis, for a limited period or, in some cases, on retainer, but they do not work full time for any particular organization.

These executives may also be called interim executives, contract executives, part-time executives, temporary executives, fractional corporate executives, on-demand executives, or executives as a service.

The advantages of hiring such professionals are their experience and the fact that they do not need a full-time position. Although fractional executives are highly skilled in their area(s) of expertise, they may need time to acclimate to new industries.

Split management is ultimately a particular variation of temporary work and temporary work resulting from demand from small entrepreneurial companies (less than 10 employees), for which a manager cannot be hired full time.
